It has seven members on the board and it is registered with the Chief District Office of Kathmandu and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council under HMG Ministry of Social Welfare. OCEAN Nepal aims to provide a caring home life, education and necessary health care to children who have lost one or both parents due to conflict or other causes and to equip them with the skills necessary to become thriving members of Nepalese society. We encourage development through the use of local resources and knowledge, which leads to financial independence and self-sustainability. Currently, OCEAN Nepal is managing an orphanage in the capital city of Kathmandu. The orphanage provides a home for 10 orphans, with plans to expand to accommodate 24 children in the future. The children are able to enjoy a safe and happy home life allowing them to grow up and become happy, healthy adults who can then support both themselves and their remaining family members.
