Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) is a professional non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organization established in 2011 A.D. It is operated by young women for the welfare of women and female children. It concentrates on implementing project activities in different dimensions such as-Women and Child’s Right, Women Empowerment (politically, economically, socially and culturally), Social Justice and Sustainable Development Goal in association with Community Based Organizations (CBOs). Mostly WEO works in the area of gender related issues, gender based budget (GB), Female Student Advocacy Program and Local Governance and Accountability Facilities (LGAF). Its development activities aim in contributing an endeavor for reducing poverty at local and national level. WEO is currently working with local people in different areas. One of the instances include work towards securing woman and child right of Muslim and Dalits. WEO has involved in tomato production and marketing with local women. WEO has also implemented Toilet Construction Program in collaboration with Village Community Development Centre (VCDC) with financial support of UN Habitat in five VDCs of Sarlahi district. WEO has completed different projects in the field of Savings and Credits, Women Empowerment, Capacity Building, Information, Education, Sanitation, Agriculture and Livelihoods Improvement. It has been running projects funded by German Embassy, TEWA, UNDP, DEO, DADO, DDC and VDC. Further, WEO has planned to construct a Girl’s Hostel in Haripur VDC with a capacity of 50 twin bed rooms with the financial support by Ms. Basnet, Ottawa, Canada. Also, WEO is planning to open Humanitarian Center, under support from the Japanese Embassy.
